Antigen Preparation
A synthetic peptide corresponding to inter-segment of human Aneexin I protein.
Background
Annexin I is a membrane-localized protein that binds phospholipids. The annexin family of calcium-binding proteins is composed of at least ten mammalian genes and is characterized by a conserved core domain which binds phospholipids in a Ca2+-dependent manner and a unique amino terminal region which may confer binding specificity. Annexin I inhibits phospholipase A2 and has anti-inflammatory activity. Loss of function or expression of this gene has been detected in multiple tumors.
